Legendary Chicago area rapper FBG Duck (real name, Carlton Weekly) was gunned down in a brazen attack by four gunmen, in Chicago’s tony Gold Coast district on Tuesday. He was 26. :\'( Two other people who accompanied him were also hit in the hail of gunfire but have survived. :-\\

Weekly rose in prominence in 2018 with his hit single, "Slide", which was remixed by 21 Savage. He released four records in the last five years, and countless solo singles with his Fly Boy Gang rap crew.

Duck’s mother, LaSheena Weekley, has implored Chicagoans to not seek street retribution for his murder.

Turns out she had another son, Jermaine Robinson, who was also gunned down on the streets of Chicago in 2017.
On social media, FBG Duck had recently made “derogatory statements toward deceased members of the Black Disciples” — a possible motive for his fatal shooting in the heart of the luxury shopping district on Oak Street, police said. You diss the Black Disciples and you’re just asking for trouble. :-\\
Police said Carlton Weekly was associated with a faction of the Gangster Disciples street gang called Jaro City, which is based near 62nd Street and Vernon Avenue in West Woodlawn. But on social media, Weekly identified himself as a member of a Gangster Disciples faction called STL/EBT. You do the math. This was a gang hit.

Speaking of the Gangster Disciples...
A former coworker of mine once wrote a book (subject was his rather long mprisonment for moving mass quantities of blow). Gangster Disciple founder Larry Hoover, who has been in the slam continuously since 1973 :o wrote the forward to the book.
Yeah, I get around. ;D

More bad news.
Duck’s cousin and fellow rapper BCR Meezle passed away after being shot at a hotel in Bloomingdale, IL. :\'(. And at the age of 27.

Bloomingdale Public Safety Director Frank Giammarese said in a statement that at least six people were injured during the shooting. However, it’s unknown whether or not the gunmen and victims knew each other.
Meezle was an aspiring rapper whose most recent singles include 2020’s “Get Wild” featuring MackBaybii and “Straight Facts” with YL$ Flame, Moneyyy and JHE AL. According to his last Instagram post, shared less than 24 hours before his demise, the 27-year-old had just released another single called “DIE Y.” 8)
