Legendary niche role actor Michael J. Pollard, known for his role as the diminutive C.W. Moss in the flick Bonnie and Clyde, as well as a key role in House of 1000 Corpses, has passed away at the age of 80. :\'(

He’s one of those actors whose name usually escapes people, but who is known as “that guy... in that thing...”, a signature trait of a great niche actor. 8)

And as a point of trivia, Mr. Pollard was the guy who came up with the title and catch line of the Traffic classic, “Low Spark of High Heeled Boys”. 8)

Another bit of trivia is that he is also the reason Michael J. Fox, whose middle name is actually Andrew, is Michael J. Fox. He original went just by the name Michael Fox, but he couldn't join the Screen Actor's Guild because the rule is (or was) that there couldn't be more than one person with any specific name, and there was already a Michael Fox. And Michael A. Fox doesn't really work. Just imagine the puns, with 'fox" often meaning "a sexy person" in slang. So he went with the "J" in tribute to Michael J. Pollard.
By the way, Pollard also played the boy inside the mirror (known just as "The Boy") in a particularly bizarre episode of "Lost In Space" called "Magic Mirror".

The roles did not end there. He did The Lucy Show, played Barney Fife’s cousin on The Andy Griffith Show, Maynard G. Karen’s cousin on The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. He also had spots in I Spy, Star Trek (original run).
He even did a spot in Movin’ On, plying the highways with truckers Will and Sonny. 8)
Dude was a monster in his heyday, he was everywhere.
