Henri Belolo, co-founder of the 70s disco group The Village People, has passed away at the age of 81. :\'(

While Henri was staunchly heterosexual, he saw the huge potential of targeting gays via the macho stereotypes and, along with his (Business) partner Jacques Morali, founded The Village People to huge acclaim. 8)
Time has not been kind to TVP. Jacques Morali died of AIDS in 1991, and Glenn Hughes (the leather dude with the awesome moustache) died of lung cancer in 2001. Also Nancy Walker, who directed (and starred) in their movie “Can’t Stop the Music”, passed in 1992. :\'(
