Philomena Lynott, namesake of the late Irish bar rocker and Thin Lizzy founder Phil Lynott, has passed away at the age of 88. :\'(

Thin Lizzy churned out classic tunes with a Celtic bent. Her son Phil belted out tunes such as The Sun Goes Down, Jailbreak, The Cowboy Song, and perhaps TL’s biggest hit, The Boys Are Back in Town. 8)
TL featured awesome guitar work, sometimes running three lead guitarists at once. Their instrumental “Emerald” ( an ode to their Irish homeland ) is a classic piece. 8)
Phil died in ‘86 as a result of heavy drug consumption, but his mom kept the flame burning. A few years ago she succeeded in having a bronze statue of Phil dedicated in Dublin. :)

So sad!
She was the matriarch of the Lynott family.
