Subject: Les Reed: Delilah songwriter dies aged 83
Written By: Philip Eno on 04/16/19 at 7:51 am
Songwriter Les Reed has died at the age of 83, his family has confirmed. He was well known for co-writing Tom Jones hits Delilah and It's Not Unusual, as well as Engelbert Humperdinck's The Last Waltz. Reed also served as a pianist in The John Barry Seven and conducted his own orchestra for more than 10 years. "We are all so immensely proud of everything Les achieved in his incredible lifetime," his family said in a statement issued to BBC News.

Countless bras and panties were thrown onto the stages upon which Englebert Humperdinck performed. ;D
All thanks to Les’ lyrics. 8)

That was Tom Jones, not Englebert Humperdinck.

At a Blue plaque unveiling in London over 15 years ago, I did get to meet Les Reed, he was invited along with other pop star celebrities. I did briefly chat with, if I know he was going to be there, I would have brought my sheet music for "Delilah" with me for him to sign.
