Never heard of him? He was the last Brooklyn Dodger to hit a home run, a three-run homer against the Phillies.  8)

Actually I hadn't heard of him. But I'm glad it's not a certain other guy who shares the name. (There've been quite a few such people lately, who pass away and share their first-and-last names with more famous entities.)

That's right... and both men are still alive and well.

According to Wikopedia, there are three other known guys with that name: (1) a rock guitarist with the band Zebra (from New Orleans, Louisiana); (2) an American football offensive lineman who played for the Chicago Bears (and just turned 75 a couple weeks ago; also, his given name was Randall); and (3) a late American football runningback who had a short-lived career in the 1970s (passed away in 2010 at age 61).

Very sad :(
