Legendary session drummer Hal Blaine of Wrecking Crew fame, has passed away all too soon at the age of 90.  :\'(

Hal Blaine was a drummer's drummer and highly respected among musicians. Back when an actual living human being drummer was the heartbeat of a song. Back when the drummer was in service to the song.

Hal Blaine was a drummer's drummer and highly respected among musicians. Back when an actual living human being drummer was the heartbeat of a song. Back when the drummer was in service to the song.

So true. He was a member of the Wrecking Crew, a group of session musicians who contributed to many artists' recordings back in the day. I even saw the special documentary film about these folks.

I think he meant John Denver, who was probably not related.
