Bruce Corbitt, lead vocalist for the pioneering Dallas thrash/speed/death metal band Rigor Mortis, has passed away at the age of 56 from esophageal cancer. :\'(

Their specialty was gore and death type lyrics, with Bruce's signature vocals on display in the hit single, "Bodily Dismemberment". While theirs was a band that one probably would not book for a wedding reception or a Bar Mitvah, they had a huge following and paved the way for other death-gore bands that followed. 8)
In recent years Corbitt and other RM members toured as the Wizards of Gore, in honor of another deceased band mate, Mike Scaccia.
