Legendary CIA agent Tony Mendez, who was the subject of the movie Argo, played by Ben Affleck, has passed away from Parkinson's syndrome at the age of 78. :\'(

Back in 1980, whilst the Iran Hostage Crisis was under way, ol' Tony managed to get into Iran and "exfiltrate" six US diplomats who otherwise would have been held hostage. He ran a scam where the diplomats carried Canadian passports documenting them as Canuck filmmakers. As part of the scam, he posed as an Irish filmmaker. 8)
He was also working on a plan to free the 52 hostages by exchanging them for a dead body double of the Shah of Iran. However Jimmy "I've lusted in my heart" Carter could not stomach such a bold plan and he nixed the idea, and the hostages did not get freed until Ronald Reagan's Inauguration Day. The Iranians knew that Reagan would bring down a world of cr@p on them If they did not free the hostages.
Great caper... this is the stuff the CIA is good at...
