This just makes me so sad. She always reminded me of my childhood best friend-I don't know why.

She had a long, brilliant career. I remember when she was on the Odd Couple before Laverne & Shirley. And then as a director-she was outstanding. Of course League of Her Own was OUTSTANDING. (There's no crying in baseball.) I loved the cameo in Hocus Pocus.

She will be missed.  :\'( :\'( :\'( :\'( :\'(

For you, Penny:

I was never a "Laverne & Shirley" fan, but I loved her as  "Myrna Turner" (what a name!), the wacky secretary on "The Odd Couple", one of my favorite shows. She was an excellent director also.

Sad loss. I hope she made up with Cindy Williams (Shirley). They had a big falling-out during their series. RIP, Penny

I had always hoped they would make up and do a reunion show, along with Lenny, Squiggy, and The Big Ragu.

I'm glad someone else remembers her from Odd Couple. I remember her character name being Myrna but I didn't remember the Turner. I do remember her laugh-how could you not? Can't find a video of it on YouTube.

Laverne and Shirley, Mork and Mindy, Three's Company -  these are the earliest TV memories I have, other than kids shows like Sesame Street and Romper Room.  John Ritter, Robin Williams, and Penny Marshall are gone.  So sad to see pieces of my childhood pass away forever.  The hardest for me so far was and still is Carrie Fisher.  :\'(

Thank goodness from that era, Adrienne Barbeau is still with us.
