Legendary almost-heir to a big chunk of Howard Hughes' estate, Melvin Dummar, has passed away at the age of 74.

To refresh the memories of people here, back when Howard Hughes died, a handwritten will surfaced that amongst other things, bequeathed $156MM to one Melvin Dummar. This was back when $156MM was a lot of money.
Melvin was subject of the 1980 flick, Melvin and Howard. His role was played by Paul LeMat. 8)
Dummar claimed that in 1967, he had picked up Howard who was lost in the desert, and took him to safety. A Nevada court ultimately deems the will a forgery, and Howard got jack. :-\\
