Iconic beer man William "Bill" Coors Jr. has passed away unexpectedly at the age of 102.

In addition to his obvious contribution to humanity of an awesome beverage, he is also credited as being the driving force behind the aluminum beer can.
I think I'll pound down a few Silver Bullets in his honor today. :P
The beer industry has lost an irreplaceable pioneer. "It doesn't get any worse than this." :\'(

Agreed... and I didn't even know he'd been alive that long. Impressive that he lived to be 102.
Still, he had some great achievements in his life/career. The Colorado Rockies' current home stadium, Coors Field (which has been active since 1995), is even named in his honor.
