For all the negative press you hear about Joe, he managed to get his family the heck out of Gary, Indiana, which was no small achievement.

Well, everyone has to go at some point. And yes, It was kindof a coincidence that Joe passed on roughly 9 years to the day after his son did so. :(

I didn't even realize this was Michael Jackson's father!

What does the town look like?


It looks like a cr@p hole. Half the houses are rotting and disintegrating. Major buildings with all the windows blown out. One thing, in Gary and its adjacent municipalities, the strip club industry is thriving. In one roughly 5-mile stretch I counted 7 locations operating either strip clubs or "adult bookstores".  :o

Oh and I forgot the drug selling out in the open on street corners.
