Subject: Frank Vincent Rubbed Out
Written By: LyricBoy on 09/13/17 at 7:34 pm
Character actor Frank Vincent, (full name Frank Vincent Gatuso), known for a raft of roles as typically a mafia henchman, passed away today at the age of 80 as a result of complications from recent heart surgery. :\'(
Perhaps his most memorable role was that of made man William "Billy Batts" Bentvino, who was murdered by Jimmy "The Gent" Burke and "Two Gun" Tommy DeSimone back in 1970.
This unauthorized hit was memorialized in the movie Goodfellas. Unfortunately for Mr. DeSimone, he did not live to see the movie made. Turns out that an aspiring mobster by the name of a John Gotti was unhappy that Billy Batts was rubbed out, and he exacted his revenge upon Tommy in 1979.
Here's a clip of the scene from Goodfellas:

Well his death went better than those of Tony "The Ant" Spilotro and Michael "Micky" Spilotro, whose deaths (via beating by metal baseball bats) came at the hands of another character portrayed by Mr. Vincent in the mob movie "Casino".
