Legendary horror-flick screenwriter and director Tobe Hooper, known for fare such as The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (I and II) , Poltergeist, and Salem's Lot, has passed away under unknown circumstances.
TTCM, produced on a pauper's budget, was one of the highest grossing movies of the 1970's.
