Subject: James Bond #2 (or #3) Roger Moore Dies of Cancer At 89

Roger Moore, known to most as the second actor to play James Bond in a 007 movie series, dies after a long battle with cancer. He was 89. Moore also played the title role in The Saint TV series and played in several movies and TV appearances. A gent that no doubt be missed.

He was actually the third James Bond. George Lazenby was before him (with On Her Majesty's Secret Service in 1969).
However:
R.I.P. Roger Moore. His Bond movies were mostly decent to good. Farewell, The Man with the Golden Gun :\'(

A sad loss, and I did meet him a few times at one of my working positions back in the 1970s. :\'( :\'( :\'(
Order of actors that played James Bond:
1) Barry Nelson (the hotel manager who interviews Jack Nicholson for a job opening in "The Shining") was the first actor to play James Bond on screen, in a 1954 adaptation of Ian Fleming's novel Casino Royale on the television anthology series Climax!
2) In 1956 television presenter Bob Holness became the second actor to portray James Bond in a radio production of Moonraker.
3) Next came Sean Connery.
4) For the 'unofficial' 1967 Bond movie "Casino Royale" a host of actors had the cast name of James Bond (even Woody Allen was Jimmy Bond).
5) George Lazenby in "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" (1969).
6) So on screen, Roger Moore was the higher than 6th to portray James Bond, starting with "Live and Let Die" released in 1973.
6) and onwards, is cinema history.

Um.....you forgot George Lazenby and nobody cares about the low budget TV Bond films. We care about the big budget ones that came out in theaters....which go like this: Connery, Lazenby, Connery, Moore, Dalton, Brosnan, Craig.

I enjoyed him in the role of Bond. However, he was not edgy enough for the character. I really enjoyed him in The Saint tv series and he partnered Tony Curtis well in The Persuaders tv series.
I noticed him as a young actor in a Liz Taylor, Van Johnson film.... can't quite recall the exact title. Maybe, The Last Time I Saw Paris?
