Bad news everyone! Fisher has passed away. I wonder because of the outcome, will Star Wars continue?

I started a thread same time as you! But man, this is such a f*cking bummer! late 2015 and 2016 is seriously a bad year for pop cultural deaths. We're loosing all our 70's and 80's icons!! George Michael, Prince, David Bowie, Carrie Fisher, Lemmy... This is totally lame!

You know, it's funny, because 2016 sort of eased off its onslaught of major celebrity death stories around the third quarter of the year*, but now as we're near the very end of the year, the headline news sadly seems to have gotten consistently infused with the obituaries once more.
I know Carrie Fisher had a seriously troubled history, but 60 is still painfully young to go, especially since the Star Wars sequel trilogy still has one more film to go. The obvious question now is how are they going to handle General Leia in Episode IX and will this affect the plot of Episode VIII?
* = Every death is completely tragic. I'm only going by particular ones that everybody was talking about, often because it was so soon and so unexpected, similar to Michael Jackson in 2009 and Robin Williams in 2014, or simply because the individual was so tremendously famous or inspirational to so many people, like Nelson Mandela in 2013.

As a person who doesn't like Star Wars that much, I could feel sorrow for those who loved Princess Leia. May she rest in peace.

This is so sad. My heart goes out to Debbie Reynolds (whom I share a birthday with). No mother (or father) should have to bury their daughter (or son).
A friend of mine once went to a sci-fi convention and David Prowse (who played Darth Vader) was there. He sang a little ditty to the tune of the Star Wars theme:
Star Wars made me a fortune
Paid off the mortgage, bought me a car.
I'm sure Carrie could have sang the same thing.

Actually she died from cardiac arrest, which is different from a "heart attack" or, "heart failure". These are three distinctly different modes of death due to heart issues. :-\\
