Cartoon Network and animator Clay "C." Martin Croker, best known as the voice of Zorak and Moltar of Space Ghost fame since 1994, has died. He was 54.
It was Croker's idea to include Zorak and Moltar on the fake talk show show, which reinvented the 1966-1968 Hanna-Barbera cartoon. The late, great Don Messick (Scooby-Doo, Hamton J. Pig) was the original 60s Zorak, while Ted Cassidy (TV's "Yooouu raaaaang?" Lurch) lent his voice to Moltar and Metallus.
Croker played Zorak on Space Ghost Coast to Coast (1994-2004), Cartoon Planet (1995-2000, 2012-2014), and The Brak Show (both the one-off variety show and the longer-lived sitcom); and Moltar on Coast to Coast and Toonami (1997-1999; TOM took over from then on, voiced by Steve "Spike Spiegel" Blum).
A huge blow to my childhood. RIP. :(
