Lou Pearlman -- the Ponzi schemer who brought the Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, and (to a lesser extent) O-Town to superstardom, has died. He was 62.
Lou Pearlman, the disgraced producer and manager of the Backstreet Boys and *NSYNC who was serving a 25-year sentence in prison, died Friday night (Aug. 19), multiple sources have confirmed to Billboard.
Pearlman was convicted of masterminding a half-billion-dollar Ponzi scheme in 2009.

Bummer. An old girlfriend of mine was a speech coach for one of the BSB's and helped him to overcome his stutter. Lou might have been shady, but he did know how to put together a hit musical performing group. Art Garfunkel was his first cousin.
End of an era with Lou's passing. :\'(

Well, he was somehow a dead topic ever since he got arrested. Even if he got too much of what he deserves.
