My bro just told me that Patty Duke Astin, famous for her role on the Patty Duke Show, has passed away. No more details yet.

US actress Patty Duke, who won an Oscar for playing Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker in 1963, has died aged 69. As well as a best supporting Oscar, Duke won an Emmy in 1980 for playing Helen Keller's teacher in a TV movie.

This is rather sad and shocking news. She seemed in good health the last time we saw her. At least William Schallert, who played her TV dad, is still living as of this thread. He's 96.

I read her autobio years ago. Pretty heavy stuff she went through. I admire her greatly.
