Subject: Merl Reagle, crossword constructor.
Written By: loki 13 on 08/29/15 at 6:56 pm
I know that most of the members here won't know who Merl Reagle was but he was a syndicated crossword constructor.
My Saturdays consisted of doing the NY times puzzle in the afternoon and Merl Reagle's puzzle at night. When I looked
for his puzzle today I could not find it, it was then I found out he died last Saturday. Who knew that when I settled in to
do his puzzle last week it would be the last. Merl was born in the next town over, in Audubon, NJ, so a local boy did well.
Merl was 65, rest well Merl, you will be missed.

I've seen his crossword puzzles in the Sunday edition of the L.A. Times. Those can be challenging, but fun.

You do become attached to a crossword setter, you learn the way they think, and master they ways of logic.
My favourite setter 'Araucaria' die only last year, and I felt sad for him.
