There are still other composers in the film industry, but as not as good as him.

What about John Williams, Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer, James Newton Howard, Howard Shore, or Alan Silvestri? They're all great. But I will give you that just the Titanic score alone (with or without images from the movie) can make this guy weep.
Horner leaves one class of great film composers and joins another:
Bernard Hermann, Jerry Goldsmith, Elmer Bernstein, Maurice Jarre, among others. Feel free to add your own.

Every year, TCM hosts a contest hunting new composers and the winner usually gets to do the entire score for a silent film. So composers are still coming along. :)

Lest we forget Harry Sukman, who was composer on many a 1960's TV show, including Bonanza, Dr. Kildare, and The Singing Nun.
