Grace Lee Whitney, famed for her role as Captain Kirk's assistant Yeoman Janice Rand in the first 8 episodes of Star Trek, has passed away.

While her role on the series was short lived, Spock managed to get her brought back for Star Trek moves I, III, IV, and VI. 8)
