Hair styling mogul Comer Cottrell, known for his breakthrough invention of an affordable Jerry Curl process for the masses, has passed away at the age of 82. :\'(

I remember in 1984 when the Jerry Curl was at its zenith. Those hair do's were awesome. 8)

I always thought that Lionel Ritchie had the best Jerry Curl. In his videos, sometimes they'd show him turning his head around, and you'd see a mist of activator fling off his head. ;D Back then, there was nothing cooler than a juicy Jerry Curl. As a white guy I felt left out. ;D

as a black woman I hurt my neck trying to keep it off of peoples couches and car seats.... I slept with a towel on my pillow.... and... I ruined so many shirt collars it's not even funny...

snoz... what did you do when you finally decided to stop doing the curl? I've read that when you washed that stuff out, the hair looked all brittle and damaged. Did you cut it all off? ???

no I wore it brittle and damaged until I went to the salon and got a proper relaxer
I have ALOT of pictures of me with bad hair because I hate the salon and I hate doing my own hair so I just go out looking like shyt! :-[
