The BBC reports that Lord Richard Attenborough, who starred as the inventor/scientist in the Jurassic Park trilogy, passed away this weekend.

The Christmas season will be a little less bright this year knowing another Kris Kringle has passed. Still, Jurassic Park was the top-grossing film in history at the time. Just going backwards from those two movies, so many memories. We'll miss you, Sir.

When I heard this news at the weekend I was deeply sadden, having that I met him several times in line of my old work. He will be missed! :\'(

It just dawned on me, the cast of "The Great Escape" has had sort of a bad go at it after filming wrapped.
Attenborough and James Garner just recently passed away, and have joined Steve McQueen, Charlie Bronson, Donald Pleasance, Jimmy Coburn, James Donald, Hannes Messemer (the Kommandant) and Gordon Jackson in that Great Stalag in the Sky.
David McCallum seems to be the only major cast member still with us, and he's still out there entertaining us as a cast member of N.C.I.S. Even he had a bad go of things, after the movie though, as castmate Charles Bronson was partying with David's wife, Jill Ireland, while The Great Escape was filming. Eventually David and Jill divorced, and Jill then married Charlie and starred in a few of his flicks.
