Legendary soul singer Bobby Womack is reported to have passed away today at the age of 70.

His body of work was eclectic, ranging from R&B renditions of "Fly Me to the Moon" and "California Dreamin'", to collaborations with 50 Cent, Todd Rundgren and the Wu Tang Clan, as well as his country hit "I Hope You Dance" from 2000.

I heard he was pretty sick with Alzheimer's a few months ago, though they haven't released a cause yet.

He also had a massive hit in 1990 or 1991 with Teardrops under the name Womack and Womack - RIP Bobby Womack .....

No, that was his brother Cecil (with his wife Linda, daughter of Sam Cooke) - but I get them confused too from time to time.
