According to the article, Mr. Uribe had slimmed down to 867 pounds at the time of his death; he had to be taken to the hospital earlier this month, using a crane.  :-\\

This guy held the Guinness record for decades:

He topped out at at a verified 486 KG (1,069 pounds).  Other sources say 1,071 pounds, but I consider Guinness he final authority, not that two pounds out of a thousand makes much difference.  Unlike bigger leviathans, such as Minnoch, Hughes wasn't bed-ridden.  He was mobile.  He died of measles, not heart attack.

It was the 1950s.  I don't think liposuction was common until the 1970s.  Anyway, his weight was his meal ticket...and he ate a lot of meals!

True true.  But what about Manuel Uribe?  I wonder why he did not just go to a lipsoction center?  You'd think they'd be able to get his weight down by several hundred pounds via lipo.

I dunno.  Maybe lipo was contraindicated for some reason.  I know a lot of the weight in morbid obesity is fluid retention.  When they get up past 400 pounds I don't know how their hearts can stand it.

Maybe they can take up a collection for some lipo.  If he could get lipo'd down to, say, 400 pounds it might be easier for him to exercise and lose the rest of the weight.

Well it's not like they are out running or jogging, so that probably keeps a lot of the effort off the heart.

These men and woman make me feel anorexic, I'm only 1/3 of their size.  8)
