Subject: Hollywood legend Mickey Rooney dies aged 93

Written By: Philip Eno on 04/07/14 at 12:16 am

Mickey Rooney, the child actor who became the world's top box-office star, has died aged of 93, US police say. Born in Brooklyn, he began his career aged 18 months in his parents' vaudeville act, Yule and Carter, and never really retired. By 1965, Mickey Rooney's 200 films had earned more than $3bn (£1.8bn) around the world. Sir Laurence Olivier once referred to him as the greatest film actor America ever produced. Rooney's death was first reported by US entertainment magazine Variety. The actor is said to have been ill for some time.

His Wikipedia page states that Mickey was the last surviving cast member of several films he did in the 1930's and 1940's.  :-\\

Married almost as many times as the amount of films he starred in!

A fine stretch of life by anyone's standards, but yet another link from the past departs us...RIP

It is sad but not unexpected, it's almost like losing a great uncle you grown up knowing but knew they were getting up there in age. I liked Mickey's old musical's with Judy Garland. R.I.P Mickey :\'(

This is a dark day for Hollywood and I'm getting to where I don't even want to go on social media to avoid stuff like this. We just lost John Pinette yesterday and now this.

I'm very, very strong, but this is trying my nerves exceptionally. :\'(
