Legendary racer, businessman, and racing promoter Andy Granatelli passed away yesterday all too soon.
Andy was the guy who took STP from an obscure brand with $2MM of annual sales into a $100MM per year juggernaut in less than 10 years.
In '67 and '68, he ran turbine-powered cars in the Indy 500 which dominated the races until mechanical failures late in each race. These cars were so fast and so intimidating that they were banned from subsequent runnings of the 500. 8)
Mr. Granatelli was 90 years old.

I know the name and his name is so famous in car racing.
