British criminal Ronnie Biggs, best known for his role in the 1963 Great Train Robbery, has died aged 84, the Press Association reports.
Biggs was part of the gang which escaped with £2.6m from the Glasgow to London mail train near Cheddington, Buckinghamshire, on 8 August 1963.
He was given a 30-year sentence but escaped from Wandsworth prison in 1965.

Normally I'd give props to anybody who pulled off a score like The Great Train Robbery of 1963.
But these clowns really jacked up one of the train employees and he was never able to work again. So I call "foul".

By chance (or coincidence), last night BBC TV showed "The Great Train Robbery", which is based on the true story of the 1963 train robbery, this drama shows how a group of mid-level criminals joined forces with a corrupt solicitor to hijack a mail train.
