Subject: Bum Phillips Passes Away

Legendary Houston Oilers coach Bum Phillips passed away this past Friday, all too soon. :\'(

Bum rose to NFL fame in the late 1970's as his Houston Oilers went to the mats with my Picksburgh Stillers in 1978 and 1979, losing both times but putting up quite a battle. After the second loss, ol' Bum colorfully proclaimed "Last year we knocked on the door. This year we beat on it. Next year we're going to kick the son of a bitch in!" ;D

Bum had maybe the best RB I have ever seen on those Oiler teams, Earl Campbell. Took 5 guys to take him down. Gave Lambert & Ham & Mean Joe Greene headaches.

Boy both Bum Phillips and Bud Adams passed away over the weekend :\'(
