Sound pioneer Ray Dolby -- yes, that http://es.wsdg.com/data/edithtml/news/WSDG%20Marks%20Fourth%20Dolby-Approved%20Studio/Images/dolby_logo.png -- is now listening to heaven's killer surround sound system right now. It's the sound of an era coming to an end.

Forget Bose (Please!  8-P) HERE'S a guy who knew a thing or two about audio, and used his gift for good, not evil. Let's, ahem, "surround" him with praise. In TrueHD, 7.1 24-bit 192kHz.

I really liked his song She Blinded Me With Science.  Yeah, I know, but you knew someone was going to do that

Dolby is good sound, much better than Bose, I agree.  R.I.P. to a sound pioneer legend

We should all observe a minute of reduced noise.

I had a Dolby cassette deck back in the 80's and the sound was horrid. That technology was simply an analogue frequency filter that not only filtered "noise" but also authentic recording content. Those Dolby-tweaked recordings sounded like you were listening from underneath a damp blanket.

If you're old enough to remember a "DOLBY NR" button on a cassette player...

...or the "Dolby B" logo, we're talking Dolby Noise Reduction.
