Legendary actor Harry Reems passed away yesterday at the age of 65 after a valiant struggle with pancreatic cancer.
Another superstar from the Golden Age of porn is gone. :\'(
Harry Reems, Linda Lovelace, John C. Holmes, Marilyn Chambers, the Mitchell Brothers, Jamie Gillis, Linda Wong, John Leslie, Aunt Peg, Sandy Dempsey are all gone now. Looks like the final end of the era. :-\\

Well Ron Jeremy came in at the end of the Golden Age. Bill Margold is still around, as is Georgina Spelvin who is 77 now and did her last porn back in '05, and Candida Royale.

Reems retired from the adult industry in the late '80s, I think. He found Jesus and sold real estate in Utah. Hew was at the top of his game with "Deep Throat" porno chic. Everyone from Truman Capote to Barbara Walters went to see it!

Indeed. Over his role in Deep Throat, Harry was the first actor convicted in Federal court on porno charges, but the verdict was overturned by a higher court. Harry's defense was paid for by Jack Nicholson, Warren Beatty, Gregory Peck and other stars. Future "Dream Team" lawyer Allen Douchewicz was his lawyer. 8)
Later Harry got consumed with booze. I read back in the day that he credited fellow Golden Age star Johnny Wadd with talking him into recovery.
R.I.P. Harry... Say hi to Johnny for all of your mutual fans. :)

I remember when it came out, it was almost always on a double bill with the Mitchell Brothers' Behind the Green Door starring Marilyn Chambers, the Ivory Snow girl, and Johnny Keyes as the male lead. BTGD was the 4th highest grossing movie of 1973 (of any type of film).
