The Reverend Sun Myung Moon, media mogul and founder of the Unification Church, bit it passed away today at the age of 92.

Moon grew up in Korea during the Japanese Occupation and was originally a Presbyterian,  and was an associate of Frank Costanza during the Korean War..

You had to make me laugh, didn't you..........

I didn't know much about the Unification Church (other than their mass weddings) but I got the impression that people were kind of freaked out by them back in the 70's.

Once when I was about 5 or 7, a man knocked on our front door and asked if he could speak with my mom. I went and got her and then went into the other room and when I came back the man was gone and my mom was a little freaked out. She said that he asked her for money and then stuck his hand in his pocket and started jingling the change around and that's when she told him to leave. "I think he was a Moonie!" she said.

Of course, being 6 or 7, a "Moonie" could have been an alien for all I knew and I remember asking her what a Moonie was and she said it was someone who belonged to a weird cult, which I really didn't comprehend.
