I Googled him and it turns out he bit it 12 days ago. I wonder what took so long for the story to get out? ???

I saw this topic, and thought it said Paul Lekakis, but got cut off lol
That was a memorable Steam tune. It also became a hit in the UK for Bananarama in 1983, and for The Nylons in 1987

He also co-wrote 'Green Tambourine' by the Lemon Pipers, if memory serves...
For what was basically a 'throwaway', he must have collared some moolah from it!

The 'Nanas version was pretty pedestrian in an 80s kind of way...The Nylons certainly showed a bit more originality...
