Subject: Chuck Tanner Slides into Home Plate...

Chuck Tanner, who coached the Picksburgh Pirates to their last World Series championship in 1979, bit it today at the age of 81 in New Castle, PA.

That '79 team featured Willie Stargell and its theme was Sister Sledge's "We Are Family". Those guys rocked. 8)

RIP, Chuck. Thanks for bringing home possibly the last series Picksburgh may ever see.

The "We Are Family" theme really caught on. I remember kids at school singing it about the Pirates, and we lived in NH!
