this makes me sad. I just met Tony Dow (Wally), Jerry Mathers (Beav), Frank Bank (Lumpy) and Ken Osmond (Eddie)
I was hoping I'd have a chance to meet Barbara Billingsley before she died. :\'(

Sad news. She was the clasic 50s mom on LITB.
And lI oved her speaking jive on Airplane. A classic.

Bummer. I loved her in the original LITB, as well as the 1980's redux, Still the Beaver. Babs was a living specimen of Americana.

She was great and she is going to be missed. I think we all sort of wished that June Cleaver was our mother. I just LOVE her speaking Jive on in Airplane. And to repeat what Frank said, that is CLASSIC!!!

Karma +1 to Claybricks for posting the Jive talkin' June Cleaver.
Truth be known, I started watching LTB reruns when I was home sick from school. I watched it at first because it was soooo corny...then I grew fond of it -- probably because Cleaver family life was the antithesis of my own! I still watch it when it's on TVLand.
I enjoyed Barbara Billingsley's acting quite a bit. June was the one who put the good ideas into motion. She was the one who really fixed the problems. Ward had the right intentions, but he was ineffective without June.
Anyway R.I.P. Barbara Billingsley.

She had the most colourful socks in the nursery. Loved her in Airplane. She was a TV legend and will be greatly missed.

Yeah...she (Billingsley) did the voice of Headless Nanny on "Muppet Babies".
