As sad as it is to lose a great talent like Joan Sutherland, but at age 83, she lived a long life.

Sutherland lent her coloratura style to everything from Mozart to Massenet. She also helped Luciano Pavarotti's career in the Sutherland-Williamson Opera Company back in the 1960s.

and now both are dead. Luciano passed away 3 years ago. :(

Pavarotti suffered from over exposure. Sometimes an opera singer has to rest. Can't sing well enough after a while. Hence, the infamous lip-syncing incident in the 1990s (I think it was). His tenor is accepted as great, although his persona was on the cheesy side.
