John Lennon was much loved and admired at our house and at everybody's house -- everybody who was cool -- loved John Lennon. Lennon was the brain of the Beatles, where as Paul was the heart.
If Lennon had lived, I think he would have become an authoritative voice in new music by the late 1980s and he would be active on several projects on his 70th birthday. Some great. Some not so good. But Lennon would always be active. He wasn't the type to withdraw or retire. He had millions of fans all around the world. He wouldn't be afraid to comment on injustice either.
There are a few conspiracy theorists who think Chapman was a CIA plant because Lennon was deemed too subversive to tolerate!
