I just read at TMZ that Manute Bol, the extremely tall basketball player, died today from kidney failure.
Manute was 47.
RIP, Manute. You have now advanced to the big league in the sky. :)

I don't know the circumstances, but disproportionate height is taxing on the organs, especially the heart. At 7' 7" and 225 lbs., I'm surprised Bol's extraordinary height that his body systems could handle pro Basket Ball.

I saw him once, sitting in a restaurant in Boston. Eye popping to say the least. He went on to do great things for his country, the kind of player who should be in the news. RIP Manute :\'(

He was 6 inches taller than Shaq
He was 13 inches taller than Michael Jordan
He was 11 inches taller than LeBron James

The muskuloskeletal/circulatory problems start to hit human males after about 6' 10." Guys who might be good athletes when they're 18 are totally burned out at 35 because they exerted more force in 17 years on their bodies than any of us would in five lifetimes. Meanwhile, they've stretched, ripped, and twisted their cartilage and joints, all of which were vulnerable to start with owing to great stature.

The other guy is about 6' 5." Bol was one tall drink o' water!
I'm sure they had to make a custom coffin for him.

the guy jumping in the picture is either spud webb or Mugsy boags who are both around the 5'5 mark so nowhere near Manute's height.

Oh yeah, I see what you're saying now that I look at the picture more carefully. Probably Spud or Mugsy.
