Fess Parker, famed for his title role in the TV series "Davy Crocket" passed away today at the age of 85. :\'(

My sister-in-law has a glass from his winery. Yes, he had a winery.

He was a big man....with an eye like an eagle and as tall as a mountain.
From the coonskin cap on the top of his head to the heel of his rawhide shoe ....RIP Fess. :\'(

It's in Santa Barbara, maybe Snoz will key in and give us some info. I almost booked us into it on our trip, but we were staying only one night and that wouldn't have been enough time.

My SIL used to live in L.A. and she would often do winery tours-going to Napa and other areas around there. Fess Parker's winery was just one of many she went to. I think she said that she really liked his wines.

I think my parents have been to his winery, or near there. I know that they've traveled through wine country over the years, sampling various wines, and they know about the FP winery.
So sad, he will be missed a great deal. :\'(

He was quite the local legend. I haven't been to his winery tho.
