DAYS's Frances Reid Dies at 95
It's the end of an era for DAYS OF OUR LIVES. Veteran actress and beloved matriarch of the Horton clan, Frances Reid (Alice), passed away on Feb. 3 at the age of 95. She died at her assisted living home in Beverly Hills. Reid is survived by her niece, Laurie Rocha, and her great nieces, April, Christie, Leanne and Marie.
There will be a memorial service in April. If anyone wants to donate in her memory, the two charities she and her family were fond of are Habitat for Humanity and Save The Children.
Reid, who also appeared on AS THE WORLD TURNS and THE EDGE OF NIGHT early in her soap career, last aired on DAYS in Dec. 2007.

Wow, Alice was a real fixture on DOOL, every bit as much as MacDonald Carey was. Even in her elder years they always trotted he out for the Christmas episode, in deference to her position as matriarch of the Horton family, as well as the show itself. :)
I guess it was time for her sands to fall through the hourglass. :-\\

Very sad to hear of her death, she lived to a ripe old age though.
I actually went on youtube and looked up some episodes of Days of our lives from the very first season.......its quite interesting to see how some the characters have developed and aged over time.
RIP Frances Reid.

Sad to hear of Francis' passing... she will certainly be missed. I hope Days gives her a proper tribute.

They killed off her son Mickey back in January too. :-\\
