She was best known to audiences in a folk duo with her sister Anna McGarrigle, and saw some International success such as their 1975 single 'Complainte pour Ste. Catherine' which was a Top 20 hit in Holland.
The McGarrigle sisters are best known across Canada for their cover version of the Wade Hemworth classic 'The Log Driver's Waltz', which was used in the legendary 1979 NFB (National Filmboard of Canada) animated short of the same name. Their version remains one of the best known Canadian songs of all time.
R.I.P. to a great singer

The McGarrigle and Wainwright families are a music dynasty.
Loudon III also for quite some time was romantically attached to Suzzy Roche and their relationship produced musical perfomer Lucy Wainwright Roche. :)
Despite a song that chronicled The Death of Suzzy Roche, she is indeed alive and well. 8)
