Maggie Jones, most commonly known for her role as acid-tongued Blanche Hunt on Coronation Street, has died after a long illness.
Having first played the character in 1974, Jones became a more full-time cast-member in 1999, though she pulled out of filming for the show in October. Jones also guest-starred in shows such as Dalziel and Pascoe, Goodnight Sweetheart, and Heartbeat.
