Subject: Actress Mollie Sugden (Mrs Slocombe from Are You Being Served?) dies at 86

Actress Mollie Sugden has died at the age of 86, her agent has said.
She died at the Royal Surrey Hospital after a long illness.
Sugden was best known for playing Mrs Slocombe in long-running BBC sitcom Are You Being Served?, a role later reprised for Grace and Favour.
The actress also appeared in The Liver Birds and Coronation Street.

Fine actress, if a little typecast...never knew she was that old, though...
There can't be many of that original cast left now...RIP Moll'

Yes another sad for British comedy.
At the last count Frank Thornton, Nicholas Smith, Trevor Bannister and Mike Berry (yes the singer!) are still alive.

I watched "Are you being served" on PBS for a while (til they switched the programming).
She was great!
I'm sorry to hear of her passing.
RIP Mrs. Slocombe :\'(
