The first time I'd actually heard of Farrah Fawcett was when she lent her voice to herself in an episode of 'Johnny Bravo.' Little Suzy tells Johnny that Farrah's coming to her party and that Farrah is her cousin. A few years later, I found out that Farrah was actually best known for her role in the 1970's television series 'Charlie's Angels.' My dad watched that programme when he was a teenager but I watched the films that were based on the programme when I was 15 and 16 (the first 'Charlie's Angels' film came out in the UK in 2000, but I was too young to see it at the time because it is rated 15).

This morning, one of my housemates told me that Farrah had died and I just found out that she died yesterday, the same day as Michael Jackson.

RIP Farrah.

I saw this thread and it's not only sad that everyone's favorite Angel is gone, but the news of her death was sadly shadowed by the passing of Michael on the same day.  They were BOTH icons, hopefully people will remember to remember both of them.

It is a shame that she is now going to be forever linked with Michael Jackson.

It's both bad and in some ways good that she died the same day as MJ--her name is being brought up in most media along side MJ's, and since MJ's getting so much attention--it's is increasing hers. . .personally I was already having a bad day because of Farrah's death when I heard about Mike, however it's sliced, Farrah was a great person who did wonders for the women's rights movement. . .and I doubt that long term--her memory will be tainted by the death of MJ. . .at least not in my mind. .  :(

It is interesting they both died on the same day.  Farrah herself was a pop culture icon in the late '70s.  All the girls wanted that feathered Farrah hairstyle and all the boys wanted, well, I'll restrain myself outta respect here.

I feel bad for her family although , she fought a brave fight and now she can rest in peace... I hope her son handles this the right way and honor her memory by CHERISHING life and not waste it, shed want the best for him.

that is sad... I mean I get it... we knew Farrah was going to go and MJ was unexpected but there has been virtually nothing on Farrah... Barbara had that special that aired but she had planned that weeks ago- I mean she talked about it last week when she flew to LA to do the interviews and announced the airing of it on the View an hour before Farrah died

but MJ's passing was sudden yet they scrambled and put together special, after special, after special... you know... Farrah deserved better.

at least NBC reran their special friday night.
