Hugh Lloyd, MBE, actor, was born on April 22, 1923. He died on July 14, 2008, aged 85.
During the 1950s and 1960s Hugh Lloyd was one of the best-known faces on television, a comedy actor of lugubrious presence who became a stalwart member of the Tony Hancock team before moving to his own series, Hugh and I, with Terry Scott, which ran for more than six years.
