Capitalist, investor, philosopher, and philanthropist.
Starting from nothing, he saw Japan rising in the 60s - and bought. He saw Ford surviving the malaise era of the late 70s - and bought. He saw the Nasdaq bubble in the late 90s - and sold. He saw the credit bubble four years ago - and sold. Through it all, he never wavered in his advocacy for investor education.
Regardless of market conditions, even at age 95, Sir John Templeton always seemed to see it coming.

95, wow. Many people seem to live a lot longer now.
