I heard about this on ESPN yesterday. He lived a good long life at 86 years. I remember watching him give commentary on various Olympics games over the years...he certainly did a fantastic job at it. :) Now he will be greatly missed. :(

Personally, I thought he already died :-[ -not saying that this is truly a loss. He was just a pioneer in the television sports world. I seem to recall that he also did a Timex commercial or two.

No disrespect here, but it would seem appropriate that they should put his coffin on a set of skis, and send him for one last ride down one of those Alpine ski jumps! :)

John Cameron Swazey used to do the most memorable Timex commercial where they strapped it to the front of a boat.
