Such great films from Sydney Pollack:
1969 - They Shoot Horses, Don't They?
1973 - The Way We Were
1982 - Tootsie
1985 - Out of Africa
1993 - The Firm

RIP :\'(

He directed and acted in Tootsie as Hoffman's agent.  Great talent he was.  Hollywood lost a great one.

WHAT???  He was one of my favourite directors, and even actors.

I loved him best as an actor in 'Death Becomes Her' where he played the doctor examining Meryl Streep.  The scared look on his face as he told her that her bones were broken, she was frozen below 80 and that her heart has stopped beating was hilarious

Sorry to see him go.  "Out of Africa" and "Tootsie" are '80s emblems for me.  He also worked with Woody Allen a whole bunch.

I had a pharmacist who looked exactly like the elder Sydney Pollack.  You'd look behind the counter and say, "Oh, Sydney's working again!) Which is to say, I think Pollack was interesting guy visually.
